“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in
his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,” Philippians 3:10 NIV

Paul said the verse above to the people of Philippi, that he wants to know Christ. To know Christ, we have to give up all inferior stuff so we can know Him PERSONALLY. We can’t know and love God while still loving the world (1 John 2:15). By personally, imagine when we know someone for instance in uni, one of our classmates. When people ask, “hey do you know that guy?”, we say “yeah we’re in the same class”. Sure, we do know the guy but we don’t really personally know him. Compare it with when someone asks about our best friend. We can confidently say that we really know them, like inside and out, because well we are close with them, we talk a lot with them. Same thing goes with knowing Jesus personally! Like Paul, we have to give up the world, this means leaving our sins, not do them again. Paul also said about the power of Christ’s resurrection and participation in his sufferings. In another version of this verse, it’s said to experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. We have to fully devote ourselves to Christ until the end of our lives.

Have we got the heart to let our worldly body die?
By doing so we’re letting God to work in our lives.
We’re surrendering ourselves to be resurrected, and become like Him.
